It shows how to take overhang and the vertical runs into consideration.
A standard overhang of 0.4m is added to each side.

Overhang 1 + Depth + Pond Length + Depth + Overhang 2
= 0.4 + D + L + D + 0.4
= Pond Length + (2 x Depth) + 0.8
Liner Width =
Overhang 3 + Depth + Pond Width + Depth + Overhang 4
= 0.4 + D + W + D + 0.4
= Pond Width + (2 x Depth) + 0.8
